THE BEGINNING
Clear Cut Premium Detailing was founded on March 19th of 2025
Hello My name is David Wells, I am the owner and founder of Clear Cut Premium Detailing. My story starts well before I started my business when I was around the age of 5, My Father Worked in a Tire and Wheel retailer called Discount Tire, as a kid my father used to take me to work with him and naturally as many curious 5 year old's I wanted to see what was going on. I was never really allowed in the shop were work was actually done but conveniently there was a huge window in the lobby that I could look out of and see all the work that was done, at the time I didn't know but this would be the spark for my love of cars! All throughout my youth I collected hot wheels so many in fact that I decided to remove any and everything from my closet and have the closet floor to serve as a show room for my collection. This coupled with growing up around cars developed a deep love and interest for them.
In school I never cared much for any subject that didn't involve physical activities or some form of creativity. I always had a creative mind growing up, I would excel in art class and loved science these were also what formed the backbone of my passion. Science was always an intriguing subject to me with being a curious person at heart I wanted to know the ins and outs of how things worked from the way the body works to how our ecosystem thrives and the list goes on, I would completely lose myself in anything science related. similarly in art I would lose track of time and get lost in my own world of imagination. I come from a long line of creatives in my family my mother would make cakes and draw and my grandmother would make dresses and was the one who showed my mother how to sow, bake and draw as well. Naturally that creativity trickled down to me and my older sister and even in my younger sister as well, I feel as if being around cars and art as a kid played a huge role in what I became passionate about I guess you could say I became product of my environment.
THE TURNING POINT
At the Age of 20 is when I got my first car. Like most 20 year old I wasn't making a tremendous amount of money I had a job working with my uncle where I was a pool technician and it was paying pretty decent for a 20 year old but I lacked the discipline of saving money, considering I had a new car my first thought that came to mind was how can I make this car look unique? So I started to look up aftermarket car parts and as you might assume most 20 year old's with no real responsibilities would have splurged and that's exactly what I did when I had the chance. years prior I had a job with my former pastor "detailing" cars, I put detailing in quotation because there was nothing detailed about it, we would go to dealerships and spray all the cars that were for sale on the lot with this truck that had a water tank in the back with a butt load of soap, we'd then rinse them down and dry them off nothing crazy, but... this is was prepped me for what was going to happen later on in life.
Like any car if given enough time it accumulates filth, and with this being my first car I wanted to make sure it was taken care of. For most of my life my mother was a single mother looking after her 3 kids alone, my mother was far from a mechanic and no one taught her anything about car maintenance... NOTHING! as you can assume the cars eventually gave out and oftentimes left us with no other option but to buy another car. As you can imagine buying any kind of vehicle is not cheap so with this knowledge I knew I had to take care of my car and keep up with it and considering my dad worked in a tire an wheel retailer not taking care of it was not gonna fly. At 20 years old I didn't have the money to routinely have someone detail my car, mainly because I spent the money on car parts, so I took it upon myself to learn how to truly detail a car I quickly learned detailing is not what I used to do with my pastor and there's a lot more involved.
Slowly but surely I began to buy the products and equipment necessary to do a good job and wound up with lots of chemicals and equipment. I started cleaning close friends and family members cars and grew to love detailing it was like everything I already was passionate about in one. I loved art and customization and detailing in a way is an art as well except the canvas you work on often times is dirty, But there is a science involved in it as well down to the chemical composition of the chemicals to how they react on the surface of the vehicle, which for me is important to do my job efficiently and at the end of the day I'm working on cars of all different types! This was the turning point in my life and ultimately revealed to me that detailing was what I wanted to do.
THE JOURNEY
2 years later In March of 2025 I Formed My Business, Clear Cut Premium Detailing. If you would have told me I would have been a business owner back when I was 20 I would have laughed at you. I never had any real ambition to become a business owner I often times saw business owners to be stuck up and egotistic only caring about themselves. I didn't want to be categorized as someone like that, I feel I had that image or notion based off of the experiences I had and maybe watching to many movies lol. But Fast Forward and I'm now a business owner, I will say there is a lot of development and growth in that role. You have to become someone who is capable (especially just starting out) of managing multiple different roles. you are the marketing team, the accounting team, the worker the list goes on and while you are fulfilling those roles you also have a duty to take care of yourself and loved ones. For most people this is and can be extremely overwhelming, My faith has a huge part to play for the way I carry myself as an individual and is also responsible for my relief and sanctuary from a lot of the stress and anxiety that can come from owning and a running a business aside from that its the sword and shield I use to walk throughout life.
As a business owner you learn to become reliant on what you can not yet see and hope that it will come to fruition with patience, consistency and resilience, this is called FAITH! you no longer rely on the consistency from a regular 9 to 5 so this pushes you to step out of your comfort zone and take a leap of faith. There's one thing that faith requires from you and that's trust when you fully lean into trusting God with the direction of your life and understand that he has a path laid out for you to walk on you gain an incredible level of peace knowing that he indeed "has plans to prosper you and not to harm you." Gods plan is Perfect and what people fail to realize is that God wants us to become strong and resilient individuals that love each other, (my dad always tells me If you are not being challenged then you are not growing.) That means when God puts obstacles in your path know that it is for your good and he is developing and building something within you for the next season, whatever that may look like! The teachings of and my relationship with Jesus Christ is Ultimately what brings prosperity to my life, I can endure through all things and be content in any circumstance because of the eternal promise I can be sure that he will fulfill for those who love and submit their lives to him.
If you have not yet had the honor of knowing or establishing a relationship with Jesus Christ, I strongly suggest inviting him into your life he is the ultimate resource and beyond that he loves you so much enough that he willingly became the ultimate sacrifice so that you could enjoy a life of Spiritual Freedom.
THE IMPACT
Clear Cut is not just a means to become successful for me it is also an example. I Graduated high school in the year 2021, Right in the middle of COVID I had plans on going to the air force as a lot of my family members have been in the military it felt like a solid choice. long story short I was in the process of enlisting for a year and a half and was unable to enlist due to a peanut allergy. I know ridiculous right... but as I said before God has a perfect plan set out for you and clearly it was not meant for me to be there. A wave of depression came across me at the age of 19 as my plan had fallen through and I felt it was already too late to go to college (by the way its never too late.) I feel the reason I told myself that along with (I'd be behind compared to all my friends) was justification for how I was really feeling, the truth was I didn't want to go back to school and was terrified of going into dept and working my entire life away to pay it off.
I want Clear Cut to be an example to friends, family, my future children and anyone really who reads this that with God a lot of hard work and a passion for what you do. You can achieve what you put your mind to we are made in the image and likeness of God the all mighty the creator and author of our lives which means through him and him only we are able to do and accomplish beautiful things in this life and my plan is to serve everyone with the utmost integrity and love like he does for us! And this I just the beginning of what God has placed in my heart to do If I ever have the pleasure of doing business with anyone who may be reading this I look forward to meeting you and providing you with nothing but the best experience
